Of the several short story anthologies I’ve read over the past 2 years, my number one standout favorite is this compilation by emerging superstar Keith Rosson (author of Fever House and others); the stories are as varied and unique as they are epically powerful and written; the authorial voice in each story is top tier. The stories run the gamut of what might be viewed as horror to simply another powerful glimpse of the struggle of life. I’d rate this 6 starts out of 5 if I could. If you read short fiction skewing to the noir or horror side and want to see how it’s done – read Folk Songs for Trauma Surgeons.
